Get Bent Dancer, Celine Blais flew to Gatineau, Quebec in February to audition for Quebec’s largest televised dance competition called Révolution. She did her best to wow a panel of judges with a 90 second Get Bent Bollywood Bellydancing routine. Dancers of all styles squared off against each other in hopes of winning a grand prize of a $100,000 scholarship. If she makes it into further rounds, she will spend two months filming in Quebec this summer. Celine said, “I'm ready to show the world what a powerful art form belly dance can be. Belly dance embodies such beautiful elements: grace, power, elegance, confidence, and strength. Our mission at Get Bent is to elevate belly dance as a respected and respectful art form. To represent belly dance on a platform with dance styles seen as ‘formal or traditional’ is crucial to this mission.”
Celine is no stranger to the spotlight. She was the face of the WE'RE CANADIAN campaign in Vancouver this winter and over the past two years she has performed across the country.
